Sun, heat, moisture, repeated flexing and load all affect a replacement part. Tell us how the part will be used so material choice can be evaluated with the design.
PETG
A material option to discuss for general-purpose covers, trim and modestly exposed accessories. The filament grade, geometry and environment determine whether it is suitable.
ASA
An option to evaluate for outdoor applications. Ask for the specific filament’s technical data and validation for the intended exposure before relying on durability claims.
PETG-CF
A carbon-fiber-filled option to consider when dimensional behavior or stiffness matters. The name alone does not establish strength, fatigue life or suitability for a loaded assembly.
Nylon
An option to discuss for more demanding wear or movement applications. Grade, moisture conditioning and print orientation require attention during design and validation.
Why there is no universal temperature rating here
A printed part is more than a filament label. Geometry, loading, print orientation and the exact resin grade affect performance. Your approved quote should identify the material and any tested operating limits.
Tell us about the environment
- Direct sun or enclosed hot spaces
- Water, cleaners, oils or chemicals
- Repeated bending, rubbing or vibration
- Any contact with food or electrical equipment
No food-contact, waterproof, electrical insulation or safety certification is implied. Material selection remains subject to application review.
