Description

i designt it in 2016 in my apprenticeship, the original one from bmw was pretty worn out and so i decided to make my own one , its smaler from the height but also wider so it fits better in my hand, it is also knurled to have more grip

the one on the pictures is made out of aluminium , the problem with aluminium is, in winter its COLD (i am not joking) but even worse in summer you simply cant tuch it when the car stands in the sun

the bmw sign on it is from a bmw motorcyle that was customized so it fits flush as a inlay

one thing that is not in the file is a slot that should fit on the lever so it dont rotate i damaged mine so its simply not in there i used rubberbands to hold it in place

you can use the .ipt to customize it as you like

edit 11.12.2019 i printed it out and it fits VERY tight so you dont need to use anything to hold it in place , i saw it made somewhere a mistake and its shorter than the original but if you need it longer you could edit it in the .ipt data

Print price estimates

Planning prices for one print, not a final quote. Defaults use a size allowance inferred from the part name, not a measured or sliced model. Filament suitability must be confirmed.

FilamentUSD / printApplication notes

PETG$21.50General-purpose candidate; heat and creep need review.
ASA$23.50Candidate for UV exposure; verify temperature and geometry.
ABS$22.50Enclosed printing; review application and dimensions.
TPU$26.00Flexible designs only; not a substitute for rigid materials.
Nylon$26.00Moisture, tolerances and application require review.

Pricing assumptions and exclusions

USD: ($6 setup + $3 finishing + filament weight × assumed spool cost × 1.25 waste allowance + print hours × $2.50 × material time factor) ÷ 0.65. Rounded up to the next $0.50.

Assumed spool costs per kg: PLA $25, PETG $30, ASA $40, ABS $30, TPU $45, Nylon $65, PA-CF $95. Time factors: PLA/PETG 1.0, ASA/ABS 1.2, TPU 1.6, Nylon 1.4, PA-CF 1.5. These are proposed shop rates, not measured production costs.

Design work, test fitting, hardware, shipping and tax are additional where needed. Multi-file sets may need several prints. Use actual sliced weight and time when available. Final pricing is confirmed in writing.
