Benefits compared to v1:
- Not touching the glass (so no stains left)
- (Hopefully) no warping
- Not much post-processing, just print and place
- Much easier to get 2 colored rings (I used Glow in the dark PLA for the top part)
Cons compared to v1:
- Needs gluing to the instrument cluster.
I used mounting tape instead of a glue and for now it works very good. Mounting tape can be removed without any residue left. The whole mounting procedure can be watched here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJC4GCp8a3c
I printed the bottom part with 10% Lightning infill in Cura, while the top part is 100% infill. Both use PLA, but the top one is Glow in the dark PLA.
