Description
Hyundai Coupe / Tiburon 2.0L 2003 - 2008
Hyundai Coupe / Tiburon 2.7L V6 2003 - 2008
Tested on a 2005 model, had a rough idle on startup but did make the throttle drop faster.
Maybe bigger holes would make it startup normally, haven't tested that yet.
There are two versions of IACV, one is round (thing:3196105) and one is like this.
Make sure to measure the size of your IACV and scale to make the design fit perfectly.
Don't print this without scaling yourself and use heat resistant filament like ABS or PETG!

Description by BDR Racing Development:
What does a restrictor plate do?
- eliminates rev hang
- better quality shifts
- more aggressive idle
- better throttle response
- better acceleration from low speeds/rpm
Instead of using the iac valve to regulate your idle speed (the IAC fluctuates which causes the Ecu to tune for it) the plate holds the valve wide open and the holes controls the idle. This allows the Ecu to tune itself a more consistently which is a significant improvement against one thats always adjusting.
More vacuum is built up in the intake manifold which improves throttle response, It also provides a more steady idle.
The rpm drops quicker so the transmission doesn't have to wait for the rpm to drop so it will shift faster and harder when you're at full throttle but keeps a smooth shift when driving normal.
On top of all the functional stuff, it makes you have an awesome intake noise now because it pulls more air in at a higher velocity from an idle now.

Print price estimates
Planning prices for one print, not a final quote. Defaults use a size allowance inferred from the part name, not a measured or sliced model. Filament suitability must be confirmed.
| Filament | USD / print | Application notes |
|---|---|---|
| PLA | $28.50 | Indoor prototypes; not a default material for hot vehicle interiors. |
| PETG | $29.00 | General-purpose candidate; heat and creep need review. |
| ASA | $32.50 | Candidate for UV exposure; verify temperature and geometry. |
| ABS | $31.50 | Enclosed printing; review application and dimensions. |
| TPU | $37.50 | Flexible designs only; not a substitute for rigid materials. |
| Nylon | $37.50 | Moisture, tolerances and application require review. |
| PA-CF | $42.50 | Filled nylon; abrasive filament and fit need review. |
Cost examples only. This design is not offered for sale; permission or specialist application review is required.
Pricing assumptions and exclusions
USD: ($6 setup + $3 finishing + filament weight × assumed spool cost × 1.25 waste allowance + print hours × $2.50 × material time factor) ÷ 0.65. Rounded up to the next $0.50.
Assumed spool costs per kg: PLA $25, PETG $30, ASA $40, ABS $30, TPU $45, Nylon $65, PA-CF $95. Time factors: PLA/PETG 1.0, ASA/ABS 1.2, TPU 1.6, Nylon 1.4, PA-CF 1.5. These are proposed shop rates, not measured production costs.
Design work, test fitting, hardware, shipping and tax are additional where needed. Multi-file sets may need several prints. Use actual sliced weight and time when available. Final pricing is confirmed in writing.
