Description
This is a printable (using TPU) connector for the vacuum line that connects to the manifold behind the MAP sensor. The vacuum line runs to the top of the valve cover. This printable item is the blue thing in the photos.
I was driving down the road and noticed my Jeep was idling high. When I looked under the hood, I saw the factory rubber fitting had split and the vacuum line was hanging loose. I taped the rubber fitting up and stopped at a parts store but they couldn't find it in their database. I thought a piece of 3/8 hose would work but it turns out that the nipple on the manifold and the vacuum line are two different sizes, so I went home and printed this out of TPU.
The vacuum line and the manifold nipple are basically tubes but they have bulges going around them to help hold a fitting on them, and I made a groove on the inside of this piece. I didn't measure it to make the bulges fit into the groove precisely or anything, I just slapped a groove in there that kinda looked like it might be close to the same size. I have no idea how it fits internally, but it does fit really tight. Once it's on, it's not going anywhere.
I'm not sure if this is a longtime solution, but the melting point of TPU is around 350-400F. I made this in spring and it has survived many 95+ summer days which are a lot hotter under the hood.
Later, I found that this piece comes with the vacuum line and the part number is 4854265. It's about $40. It looks like Dorman 47128 but the Dorman doesn't fit.

Print price estimates
Planning prices for one print, not a final quote. Defaults use a size allowance inferred from the part name, not a measured or sliced model. Filament suitability must be confirmed.
| Filament | USD / print | Application notes |
|---|---|---|
| PLA | $28.50 | Indoor prototypes; not a default material for hot vehicle interiors. |
| PETG | $29.00 | General-purpose candidate; heat and creep need review. |
| ASA | $32.50 | Candidate for UV exposure; verify temperature and geometry. |
| ABS | $31.50 | Enclosed printing; review application and dimensions. |
| TPU | $37.50 | Flexible designs only; not a substitute for rigid materials. |
| Nylon | $37.50 | Moisture, tolerances and application require review. |
| PA-CF | $42.50 | Filled nylon; abrasive filament and fit need review. |
Cost examples only. This design is not offered for sale; permission or specialist application review is required.
Pricing assumptions and exclusions
USD: ($6 setup + $3 finishing + filament weight × assumed spool cost × 1.25 waste allowance + print hours × $2.50 × material time factor) ÷ 0.65. Rounded up to the next $0.50.
Assumed spool costs per kg: PLA $25, PETG $30, ASA $40, ABS $30, TPU $45, Nylon $65, PA-CF $95. Time factors: PLA/PETG 1.0, ASA/ABS 1.2, TPU 1.6, Nylon 1.4, PA-CF 1.5. These are proposed shop rates, not measured production costs.
Design work, test fitting, hardware, shipping and tax are additional where needed. Multi-file sets may need several prints. Use actual sliced weight and time when available. Final pricing is confirmed in writing.
